Between 2000 and 2004 a large part of my free website branding plans revolved around electronic giveaways: mainly wallpapers and screensavers. One challenge that Naval Institute faced was that it catered to a lot of different customers. Some were current or former military. Some were military hardware enthusiasts. Some hard-core history buffs.
Luckily, we had access to official Navy photography that we were allowed to use for promotional purposes. We also had access to historical imagery and I had found a handful of free 3d models online that I could generate schematics from. Putting these all together I executed a series of dozens of wallpapers and screensavers which were downloaded tens of thousands of times.

A tribute to the F/A-18 Hornet …

For the historically-interested, a wallpaper featuring Nelson and Napoleon …

This was a screen saver I created for the Naval Institute Foundation to run on their office computers and giveaway to donors.
